The Most Out of Life
“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” - Philippians 3:14
What do you want in life? What are you looking for? What do you pray to God hoping you will have one day? The answers to these questions are endless. Ask a thousand people, and it is possible you get a thousand different answers. What does it take? Why do some people get what they want, what they chase after, and others don’t?
Yesterday we told the story of a pilot who was quite literally hanging on for dear life. He had been sucked out of the plane, was fortunate enough to catch a ladder, and hung on to the ladder until the plane was able to land. It would have been easy just to let go, but the pilot held on and preserved his life.
Now, when it comes to a life-or-death situation, we might all think we would do the same. But what about when it comes to making the most of life? If you would hold on to preserve it, then your life means something to you. And you must utilize that same mentality to motivate you day to day.
We are blessed to be alive right now. Every day the Lord gives us is a gift from Him. If you are still breathing, God has a purpose for your life. But that purpose is not to just spin on a hamster’s wheel, going through the motions day by day. It is to live your life to its fullest potential for Christ. That is what He designed you to do!
Philippians 3:14 says, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Jesus is calling you to run the race, to receive a heavenly prize. That prize is the result of living your life to its fullest. Not the world’s version of fullest, but God’s version. Are you getting the most out of life right now?
