Take It To The Bank
“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen” (which means ‘Yes’) ascends to God for His glory.” - 2 Corinthians 1:20
As we continue to look at Jeremiah chapters 32-33, we see a man with unshakeable faith. Even though his circumstances gave him no reason to believe, he still had faith God would come through for him, so much so that he bought a property in the city that was expected to be destroyed (Jeremiah 32).
What Jeremiah preached was that in times of trouble, you can be assured that God will help you. When God says it, you can take it to the bank. It is going to happen! That is a word of assurance. While things might look bad, and some things aren’t going well, God is at work. Even while we are going through tough times, He never stops working.
Help is on the way! It is easy at first to hear that and be encouraged. Oftentimes, we can read Scripture, hear a sermon, or pick up something on the radio, and we immediately get excited. We have these moments of “spiritual highs” when we trust God and believe that everything is going to work out.
But after some time, when the “high” wears off and we begin to concentrate on the current state of our situation, we lose the faith that we had in those “high moments.” We begin to question God. “Did He really mean that?” “Is He actually going to do what He said He would do?” “How can I be certain He will come through for me?”
My friend, if the Lord said it, you can bet on it. Every promise from God is SURE. You can take it to the bank. The Lord WILL help you. He WILL be there through your toughest moments in life, and He WILL protect you, keep you, and lead you.
