Talk The Talk
“I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold.” They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’” - Zechariah 13:9
Yesterday, we talked about how God will test our faith, not to destroy us or discourage us, but to develop us on our journey with Him.
God knows that it is one thing to profess the rhetoric of faith. But it is another thing to meet the requirements of it. In other words, it is one thing to talk the talk, but it is another to walk the walk.
Anyone can declare forgiveness, but a test can determine if you practice it. I would be guilty of biblical malpractice if I told you that walking with God is always easy.
The goal is to always improve. God told the prophet, Zechariah, “I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold.” They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God’” (Zechariah 13:9).
God will test us to see if we can put our money where our mouth is. The question is, are you ready to walk by faith? Would others describe your faith and your walk with Christ the way you would? Sometimes, God will test us to show us if we really are spiritually where we believe we are.
Is God in the process of testing you right now? Do you walk the walk, or are you simply just talking the talk?
