Receive It
“And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.” - Acts 20:32
Over the last couple of days, we have looked at what we must do if we want to truly let go of the things holding us back from becoming the people God has made us to be. The Bible gives us three things we can do as we let go and seek to look forward rather than look back.
First, we must reach up, realizing we need His help. The reality is that we cannot let go on our own. We need the power of God. Then, we must reach in. It is not enough just to need His power. He wants to know that we understand our need to further develop our relationship with Him. We must eliminate the noise so that we can clearly hear the voice of the Lord.
Today, we look at the third thing we must do if we want to let go of the things that we know do not serve us. And that is, we must receive it. Just because power is available, it doesn’t matter if you don’t receive it.
Acts 20:32 says, “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.”
That inheritance, what God wants to give you, is only available if you receive it. He will not force it upon you. He does not force you to reach up for His power. He does not force you to reach into your relationship with Him. And He does not force you to receive all that He wants to bless you with.
It is possible to let go. It is not possible without Jesus. You need to reach up to Him, reach into Him, and receive Him. When you do that, you have all that you need to let go!
