Fasting For A Breakthrough
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.” - Revelation 1:3
Have you ever waited, hoping for something to change, or come to fruition, in your life? Have you waited on a dream or manifestation to become reality? Your circumstances may make it difficult to hope, but you continually wait with expectation for that moment.
If you are serious about getting a breakthrough, one of the best things you can do is fast. This may seem crazy, and you may wonder, “What does fasting have to do with my breakthrough?” However, fasting is what can lead to your breakthrough.
What God wants is for you to commit to Him. He wants you to show him how serious you are about getting that breakthrough. This requires sacrifice.
We talked earlier this month about Abraham and the prayer he spoke to God in Genesis 18. The prayer was so powerful because of Abraham’s heart during that time. Abraham prayed with a burden, and he prayed from a state of desperation. When you are desperate, you will do almost anything for the result you are seeking. You are ready to sacrifice your comfort for God’s will.
Fasting is a great vehicle for change. If you want to experience a real breakthrough and move the heart of God, try fasting. It might be time to put away anything that is shifting your focus off God and distracting you from your growth. God will regulate your mind and heart in order to prepare you for that breakthrough that is on the way!
