A Determined God
“Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” - Matthew 19:26
When you come to God in prayer, He listens to you. When you come to God with a prayer that aligns with His will, He becomes determined to answer your prayer. Have you ever heard that? Not just that God says “yes,” but that He is determined to make it happen?
Yesterday, we talked about praying to Christ with desperation. We talked about how we should have passion behind our prayers. We should be bold in asking Him and knocking for the door to be opened. But understand this, the power always comes from His end. When you align your prayer with His will, you will find out what God is capable of.
The truth is, as Ephesians 3:20 says, God is capable of doing far more than we can ask or imagine. But not only is He capable of exceeding our expectations, He is also determined to do so! Many believers go through their whole lives not recognizing the positive power of prayer because God did not answer them how they wanted, when they wanted. And the fact is, sometimes the answer will be no.
However, there is good news for you. When you remain in close relationship and communication with God, He makes your heart want the things He wants. You will start to view rejection as divine protection. You will see that those things you didn’t receive weren’t worth receiving because God has better. When you are praying for the things He wants, He begins to urgently work with determination and power to make it happen.
Prayer is a powerful tool. God can do so much more than we could ever do on our own. Jesus tells us this in Matthew 19:26, “Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’”
Prayer is powerful. But it is powerful when a DESPERATE person meets a DETERMINED God.
