God’s Presence
“The Lord replied, ‘My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’” - Exodus 33:14
If you have been following along with us over the last four days, I hope you are encouraged. The truth is, life is tough. Some things will be thrown at you—situations, circumstances, even people—that will make life difficult. Trials and tribulations will surely hit at some point or another. And it makes you feel like you are surrounded by them with no place to go.
But what you are really surrounded by is God’s promises, peace, protection, and power. And when I think about the fact that we are surrounded by the Lord’s presence, what comes to mind is the idea that when we face life’s challenges, we do not have to despair because all things work for our good and for His glory.
It may not seem like it at the moment. Right now, you may feel that things are not going well, but they will eventually. The verse says God “works” all things for good. This does not mean they are always good, but He is working them for your good in the end. You have that promise from God.
And during difficult times these are the things we can rely on: that we have God’s promises for better days ahead and that He will work it all for good. We can have peace, knowing He is working all things out. In Exodus 33:14 the Lord says, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
We have His promises and peace, but we also have His protection. No matter what we go through, we can be sure it will not overcome us. He is protecting us just as He said in Isaiah 54:17, “no weapon forged against you will prevail.” God will not allow anything to overtake you. And He can assure you of that, because of His power. He is all-powerful, and He is in complete control at all times.
When you know God as your personal Lord and Savior, you have access to the presence of God. And that presence comes with promises, peace, protection, and power. That’s everything you will ever need to follow your calling in this life!
