You Can Dream Again
“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” - Ephesians 3:17-20
Have you lost the ability to dream? So often when we grow up, we start to believe that we must sacrifice our dreams. Someone might say you have a family and other responsibilities to worry about now. Or you may believe that you are too old to pursue those things that you once believed in. You may compare your life to the lives of others or live with the regret of not pursuing what you wanted at an earlier time.
We hear the phrase “God is too big for your box” or “don’t place God in a box;” yet, that is often what we do because of our human weaknesses. If we feel stuck, it’s often because of our self-imposed limitations or the limitations others have placed on us. Or we may even limit God because He hasn’t moved in the manner that we want in the timeframe that we want.
But what if that wasn’t God’s plan for you? Others might expect you to let go of your dreams, but God hasn’t. Many times, the dreams within you were placed there by the Father Himself. His delay is not His denial, and he may be clearing a path to guide your footsteps. Ephesians 3 tells us of the power of God, and what He can do within us. It “surpasses knowledge.” He is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”
What dreams has God placed in you? Now is the time to dream again. Pray for God to guide you above and beyond anything you could ask or imagine. Choose today to no longer place those dreams on hold.
