Waiting For Him
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” - Isaiah 40:31
We talk about waiting a lot — waiting on God, waiting for His timing. The Bible talks a lot about waiting on God. Why so much? Because it is that important. We have spent the last couple of days discussing how to avoid getting sidetracked. We do this so that we do not have to suffer from the delays, difficulties, and detours the enemy wants us to walk into.
Many times when we are sidetracked, we face these delays, difficulties, and detours that God never intended for us. So if He does not want us to delay or find difficulties on detours, doesn’t that mean there is urgency? Yes, but not always in the way you might think. See, while you are waiting, God is working. He is working in your situation, and He is working in you.
While God is handling the situation, He is having you wait. One reason He’s having you wait is to show you His power and to show you that He does not need you. But another reason is to develop you and grow you while you wait. He wants you to grow, and He wants to prepare you for whatever you are about to step into. But that does not mean the deadline is urgent.
God has His own timeline, and trying to speed up that timeline will only lead you into further delays and detours. If you want to experience all God has for you and walk the journey He designed for you, you must wait on Him. Urgently grow in your walk with Christ, but do not urgently push for a sooner deadline. God is never late, but He is also never early. What is yours will come to you, right on time!
