Protection From Danger

“He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.” - Proverbs 2:8
 
 
Yesterday, we talked about how the waiting periods in our lives are necessary for preparation. However, the wait also protects us from danger.  
 
Sometimes, what we want and what God wants for us are in direct competition. We want the career now, the promotion, now, the relationship now, and the peace now. We have in our mind the way we will feel when we obtain these earthly things, and we don’t want to be denied the joy of what we think we will experience.  
 
However, everything that glitters is not gold. That job may have an overbearing boss, that promotion may come with little to no vacation time, that relationship may be abusive or not what we thought it would be. God, in His infinite wisdom, not only sees the beginning, but he also sees the end. And there are times when His answer will be “no” or “not right now” because what we think we want will cause us more harm than good.
 
Your God-given destiny requires your obedience because it is bigger than you. Everything must be in alignment for you to reap the greatest rewards. Don’t think about what you are losing. Think about what you are gaining while waiting.
 
God is our protector. The Bible says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). When you are in God’s waiting room, you don’t have to worry about the outcome because God already has you covered.
