Help Makes The Difference
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5:7
Author Eugene Peterson’s once told the story of his frustration trying to remove the blade from his lawnmower. He had tried everything and was ready to give up and throw in the towel. His neighbor, who saw him struggling asked if he was loosening the blade or could he be inadvertently tightening it.
Sometimes, we feel as though we have to do everything ourselves because we don’t have help, or we don’t have adequate help. We say, “Well I will just figure it out myself,” or “Nobody is going to get it done as efficiently as me.” And that could very well be true.
However, it often leads us to burnout, thinking we can be everywhere all the time. Sometimes we want to give up because we cannot figure it out. Sometimes, all it takes is another set of eyes, another mind, or some additional muscle to get the job done. And more importantly, it takes a God who sits high and looks low to keep us sane!
1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” When you are anxious or nervous about something, pray over it. When you are depressed or sad about something, pray over it. When you are fearful or afraid of what might happen, pray over it. And when God sends you His messengers to assist, let them help!
God is always there for you. The God you serve is bigger than anything you will ever face. And He will help you through it. Every single time. Give it to Him and find rest in His power.
