Pray With Boldness
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.”- Hebrews 4:16
Those of you who are parents may know how it feels to have someone constantly bartering and negotiating with you, “Daddy, can I get a candy bar and some ice cream, or Mom can I go to the movies or finally get a car.” You may be prepared to say ‘yes’ or you may be prepared to say ‘no.’ But regardless, you have to recognize that your children are bold enough to ask you for something because they believe they are deserving and they also believe you have the capacity to give them what they want.
Understanding that he cannot properly lead the Israelites without the Lord, Moses boldly asks God to give him favor and show him glory. Moses goes directly to the Lord because he knows that is where his strength lies. The Lord obliged to be with and have mercy on him (Exodus 33:12-23). And the Lord will do the same for us. We must be willing to ask and believe in faith that we will receive. God will give us what we need exactly when we need it.
If our prayers are going to shift heaven, if our prayers are going to move God, then we have to go boldly to God. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.” Do you want God to move heaven and earth for your needs? Pray with boldness!
