A Sincere Heart
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” - Ephesians 6:6-7
Yesterday, we spoke about the sense of burden that we often feel in life. But today, I want to share with you how you can begin to shift your mindset to see the positive in life and not focus on the negative. First, we must come to God with a sincere heart.
God understands our hearts and he knows when we are feeling the burdens of life. He wants us to be honest with Him when we pray. Where do your frustrations lie, where do you feel inadequate, what things do you want to change? Take all of that to God in prayer. And ask God to remove anything from your heart that does not align with His will.
Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” When you are taking delight in the Lord, He will grow you to be more like Him and help you conform your ways with His will.
God does not need us to put on a front and act like everything is okay when it’s not. He just wants us to spend more time with Him, because in Him there is comfort, peace, and joy. He is with us in our storms, and He wants us to feel His presence.
So go to God with a sincere heart and speak what is truly on your mind. If changes need to be made, He will take care of that. He just wants you to sincerely come to Him!
