The Power of Prayer
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” - Mark 11:24
There is power in prayer. As believers, we hear this a lot. But so often, we fail to comprehend the true power behind it; and more importantly, the power within the One to whom we are praying.
Mark 11:24 tells us, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Jesus taught, "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). Do you understand what kind of power is displayed in these verses? This power is not accessible for just anyone. Like Abraham, God reserves this power for those who are faithful and obediently following Him.
Obedience to God begins by asking Him to align your will with His because we cannot do anything in our own strength. This will give you the power to deny the flesh that so often wants to take over.
Are you living a faithful and obedient life before Christ? If you are a believer and you have given your life to Christ, you not only have the gift of eternal life, but you receive the power to strengthen you during your time here on earth! Ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. That my friend, is truly the power of prayer!
