Chosen By God
“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the people on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.” - Deuteronomy 14:2
As a follower of Christ, you have been chosen by God. When you make the decision to put your hope and faith in Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and trust Him with your life forever, you belong to Him. And when you belong to Him, you become His special, chosen child.
That is right. The Creator of the universe has chosen you. He has a special plan that only you can do. This is a major responsibility, and one that is not to be taken lightly. God does not just want you to place your faith in Him with your eternity, but He wants you to trust Him and follow Him here on earth.
The life God has designed for you is far greater than anything you could ever imagine. Your greatest hopes and dreams do not compare to what God has for you. But you must be obedient to follow Him. You do not want to waste this amazing opportunity to live the life God intended for you.
Everyone likes to throw around the word “potential.” We use this when we think about what someone is “capable of becoming,” and the things they can achieve if they reach the ceiling of their abilities. But we can only maximize our potential by trusting and being obedient to God.
Deuteronomy 14:2 says, “For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.” This verse says of all the people on the earth, God has chosen YOU. Others might not reach their potential, but that doesn’t have to be you. God has chosen you, and He wants you to fulfill the destiny He has for you. You will be more fulfilled because of it.
