Are You Ride or Die?
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” - Hebrews 11:6
Have you ever questioned God? Have you called out to Him and blatantly asked Him, “Are you going to do what you said you would do, God?” First Lady Jill Biden recently spoke about struggling with faith after her stepson died, despite her many prayers for God to save him.
For four years, Mrs. Biden avoided church until one day she ended up going back when then-candidate Joe Biden was on the campaign trail. The service moved her, and it was through the first lady of the church that she heard God say, “It’s time to come home.”
Even though you face challenges and difficulties, and even though you experience disappointment along the way, God is saying, “Don’t trust your circumstances, trust me. Because those circumstances and your feelings will change, but I remain the same.”
When you don’t know if your family member is going to make it through, do you still have faith? When you lose your job and you do not know how the bills are going to get paid, do you still have faith? When you get rejected from your dream school, and you do not know where you are going to go, are you still ride or die?
Faith is not based on circumstances. It does not rest in the situation; it rests in the One who regulates the situation. God is in control. Where you are now is transitional. He can move the mountains in your life, in a way you may not be able to currently conceive. He wants to know that you trust Him, not just in the good times, but in all times. So, are you ride or die with the God who has it all under control?
