God Is Cooking For You
“Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” - Isaiah 30:18
Most people don’t go into the kitchen and start eating a cup of sugar, a cup of flour, or some salt. They do not drink a tablespoon of vanilla be itself and say, “what a great meal!” Why is that? Because they recognize that these are all individual ingredients that will ultimately be used to create something better. What we do is we mix them together, put them in the oven, and sometime later, we see a product whose ingredients collectively are better than they are individually.
Sometimes, when God is taking His time, He is strategically developing individual parts of our lives to bake and serve the best product for His glory. We see the broken pieces of our lives, but He sees the whole picture and its beauty. Isaiah 30:18 says, “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” God will bless you if you wait for Him.
But this takes time. Just like baking in the oven, you must wait for the parts of God’s plan to materialize and form together. He has a perfect plan. You just need to allow God to cook for you and watch how he puts it all together. It’s hindsight that is 20/20. You will look back and realize that everything was working for you—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
