Find Your Army
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9
When you are fighting for the promises, God has given you, or the plan he has set before you, you must surround yourself with people who can fight with you. There will be much adversity that comes against you. Satan will do everything he can to keep you from doing the will of God. Sometimes, you will become discouraged or begin to question everything about the promise or plan God has given you.
What is interesting about the story of Abram pursuing Lot in Genesis 14 is that when Abram lost his nephew, he didn’t fight back alone. He had people around him to back him up. God had uniquely designed and positioned warriors and fighters to go with him in battle to get Lot back. That is good news because it lets us know that if you trust God, He will back you up when you go into battle.
Genesis 14:14 says, “When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.” Abram mobilized an army of trained fighting men who were already a part of his operation and shared with them what had happened. They would then join him in a rescue mission to retrieve his nephew, Lot. These 318 trained men bought into the vision and aligned with Abram to help him restore what had been taken away.
These warriors represent the huge army of people we need and whom God will position in our lives to intervene and intercede on our behalf when things start to go astray. This can be prayer warriors, intercessors, encouragers, or other people who know the Word.
Whatever it is you are going through, you do not have handle it alone. Find your army. Allow God to bring others into your life who will help you. God will move heaven and earth to make His plan happen in your life. Your job is simply to be obedient and allow Him to do so. Allow God to give you an army that is there when you need them most.
