But God… You Promised
“When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous.” Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You shall be the ancestor of a multitude of nations.” - Genesis 17:1-4
There are thousands of promises in the Bible that God makes to His people. These are promises that God might lead you to find and claim for yourself. This does not mean that God will always just hand you a promise without anything being done on your end. Sometimes He might. Sometimes He will do all the work, showing you how powerful He is, and give you what He has promised. Other times, it is a little more difficult.
Maybe God has promised you something that seems like it is in jeopardy. You know without a doubt God has promised you something, but maybe you lost it, or are on the verge of losing it. See, Lot was a part of a promise God made to Abram. God promised to bless him and his family, to make his name great and to make sure that all of the families of the earth would be blessed through him.
God makes a covenant with each and every one of us right now. The devil wants to distract you from the promise God has for you, but God has other plans. If God promised, it is sure. It will happen. Trust and believe that.
