Building God's Brand, Pt. 1
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” – Genesis 1:27
In the age of social media, many people have profiles and are building a brand for themselves. Whether you monetize it or not, you are creating a public image and reputation for yourself. A personal brand can be defined simply as building one’s public perception based on the audience he or she wants to serve.
The question then becomes, will Jesus be included in your brand? When people are talking about you, is Jesus’ name something that will come to mind with other distinguishing characteristics? Many believers want to keep their relationship with Christ quiet, in order to fit in with society. And while we should be humble, and not operate out of arrogance or ego, Matthew 5:16 also states to “let your light shine before others.”
God has given you many gifts and talents, many of which you probably display in some form or fashion before others. In the same way, show others that you are openly seeking Jesus. Whatever God has called you to do, you are going to need His help in doing it. To live out the plan He has for your life, you are going to have to actively pursue Him for help.
Let this be a part of your story, a part of your brand. It is said that those who succeed in building a following are those who are real and genuine. As you seek God and His guidance, let it be known. You never know who is watching and how you can affect others.
