God's Plan Is Always Better
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” – Isaiah 55:8-9
One time, I remember being so upset because I was driving in an unfamiliar environment, and I missed the exit that I was supposed to get off on. I had an important meeting to attend, and I didn’t want to be late. I drove to the next exit and prayerfully made it to my destination in time.
Later, I found out that there was an accident on my original route and traffic was at a standstill.
Had I taken that exit, I would have missed my meeting. I couldn’t thank the Lord enough that day because what I thought I wanted was not what I needed. God worked out an even better plan!
In Exodus 3 and 4, Moses doubted God’s call for him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He said “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring the Israelites out of Egypt” (Exodus 3:11). “But suppose they do not believe me or listen to me, but say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’” (Exodus 4:1). God reassured Moses that if He brought him to it, He was going to bring him through it. And God will do the same for us.
Are you worried about a particular situation because it doesn’t appear as though things are moving in your favor? That rejection may be God’s redirection to something bigger and something better.
Just remember that God’s plans will always supersede our plans. Trust the process and know that while we see a snapshot, God sees the entire picture. Everything is working in your favor. It’s time to pray for your will to align with God’s so you can turn that worry into worship!
