Don’t Let Your Ex Block Your Next
“For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup with foaming wine well mixed; he will pour a draught from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs. But I will rejoice forever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” - Psalm 75:8-10
The reality is, no matter who you are, you have an ex. This could be an ex-girlfriend, an ex-boyfriend, an ex-boss, an ex-coworker, or any number of titles people hold in our lives. Regardless, there is someone who was in your life, that for some reason or another, have been removed. Whether they removed themselves, you removed them, or God removed them. They are no longer a part of your life.
If they are no longer in your life, this is for a reason. God has a purpose for everyone that comes into your life. He also has a time table for when they come and when (or if) they go. When someone is removed from your life, for whatever reason, it is important not to get hung up on why they left. Instead of asking how you got here, assure yourself you are not going to stay there.
Do not get so hung up on why the situation ended badly and try to figure out every possible reason things get wrong to the point you miss what is next. Do not let your ex block your next. They are an ex for a reason. Their time has concluded. God had an expiration date for their role in your life. But that does not mean all people have an expiration date in your life.
You must be sure though that you do not miss what is next, by being stuck on what was. The past is something we cannot change. So rather than trying to analyze every detail that happened. Take what you can from it. Grow and be better in the ways God reveals you can be. And allow Him to give you an even greater future. This is what He wants to do for you!
