Praying for a Revelation
“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.” - Deuteronomy 29:29
Over the last couple days we have talked about what to pray for when you are going through a difficult situation or circumstance. Everyone in life will face trials and hard times. The key is how you go through them. Will you go at it alone trying to navigate through and mustering up the strength just to say you’re “doing fine”? Or will you turn to God and pray for the things you need when you just can’t do it yourself.
If you are going to get through these difficult times, you are going to need God to give you resilience in spite of your circumstances. You are going to need Him to replenish you when you just feel empty. Finally, you are going to need a revelation. A revelation from God is quite simply how He reveals Himself to us.
See, when you go through difficult times, God wants you to pray, not only to ask Him for help, but so that He can reveal Himself to you in a whole new way. God desires for you to continue to know Him better. He also wants your dependence to be on Him. Sometimes He allows situations like this to happen so that you refocus your attention to Him. God does not promise all things will be good. Being a believer is not about going through life without problems. It is about continuing to grow and be more like Jesus Christ.
God will use the situations and circumstances you are going through to give you a revelation to see Him in a new way. When you realize God is in control of your situation, your entire perspective changes. If you are having trouble seeing you circumstances the way you believe God desires, ask Him to give you a revelation.
