Are You Ready For God’s Power?
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, ‘Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is Possible with God.” - Mark 10:27
On February 3, 2013, something very shocking happened just a few minutes into the second half of the Super Bowl between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers. There was a 34 minute power outage that completely changed the momentum of the game.
The power outage at the New Orleans Super Dome was not only inconvenient to the game, but an embarrassment to the city. Some wondered whether the power failure was caused by a defect in the relay which is a device that concentrates power and prevents blackouts in large events. But engineers tell us the problem was not the relay; they said that the relay was working. Instead, they said the problem was the Super Dome had not updated its infrastructure as to accommodate and allocate the amount of power it received. The problem wasn’t that enough power did not get to the Super Dome. The problem was that the Super Dome was unable to handle the power once it was received
This is comparable to Jesus’ words to the church after His ascension in Acts 1:8 where He says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” The question is, are you prepared and ready to receive the power that God wants to deliver and send to you? Do you have the necessary resources and infrastructure to handle what God wants to do in you, through you, and for you?
See God wants to do more for you than you could possibly imagine. We talked a few days ago how God wants to exceed your expectations, and the best part is He has all the power to do so. The question is, are you prepared to use that power? Don’t allow yourself to buy into the limits others have set for you. God’s power is ready to work in, through, and for you. You just need to be ready when the time comes!
