Looking Through New Lenses
With all wisdom and insight he has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he outlined in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. (Ephesians 1:8-10)
Last year, I started having vision problems. I noticed whenever I had to read things up close the lines were blurry. The eye doctor gave me a prescription for glasses that I use when I’m doing intense reading, and it is amazing how they help me to see what I could not see before.
In today’s key verses, Paul is saying that’s what Jesus does for us. He is the lens through which we should begin to view life and the world when we give our lives to Him; and when we do that, He helps us to see things we could not see before.
Some of you know how differently you see life, relationships, friendships, money, and family now that you’ve given your life to Christ. It was as if you had a cloudy vision and a difficult time seeing; but God, in Christ, opened up the skies and allowed His "Son-light", not “S.U.N.” light, but “S.O.N.” light to shine through, which has enabled us to see what we were previously unable to see.
I have no doubt that there are some things God wants to reveal to you, about you, and for you that are literally out of this world. And with God steering the wheel of your life, guiding and directing you, you are able to navigate the storms and the seasons of life without making the same mistakes you made before. You will have new vision, an ability to see things from a new perspective, if you’re looking through the lens of Jesus Christ.
