Unexpected Seasons
We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds. (Psalm 75:1)
Many people today are struggling to find peace and contentment in the face of pain—abandoned by family members, neglected by friends, and dealing with unfulfilled hopes and dreams.
Rather than remaining stuck, having a pity party wondering why it happened or when you will receive apologies from others, it’s important not to let your future be held hostage to your past. In fact, what you think might be the end just might be the start of a new beginning.
If you take the time to read Psalm 75, you’ll see it is a psalm with a focus on how to move forward in life when you can’t get closure. This particular passage of Scripture teaches us the importance of writing a new chapter in life even when the last one didn’t work out the way you thought it would.
That is a lesson we all need to learn because, more than likely, we are going to face multiple seasons and circumstances in life where things don’t turn out the way we planned for them to. But when that happens, we must praise the Lord anyways. We must remember that God’s near to us in those times, even though we may feel alone. And because of all of His faithful deeds in the past, we can trust that He will be faithful again.
Whatever unexpected season you’re walking through right now, my prayer is that you choose to trust your Heavenly Father. Have faith that He is going to come through for you because He always does, for He never leaves His children hanging out to dry.
