Time for an Upgrade
"And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, saying to them, It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers." – Luke 19:45-46
Every now and then, companies do something smart. They pause, step back, and assess where they are. They look at their systems, their tools, their capacity, and they ask an honest question: Can what we have in place carry the weight of what we’re trying to do next?
Because vision alone is not enough. Talent isn’t enough. Good people and good plans won’t go far without the structure to support them. You can’t run today’s internet on yesterday’s equipment. You can’t build the future on outdated tools. And you can’t stream high-speed purpose through dial-up faith.
At some point, we all need to upgrade. Jesus makes this painfully clear in the final days leading up to the cross. He walks into the temple, the sacred place that was meant to be full of worship and prayer, and instead sees it cluttered with transactions and distractions. So He flips the whole thing over. Literally.
Because the people had built a system that could no longer hold the heart of what God intended. They had created a structure for faith, but the spirit was gone.
That’s still happening today. We go through routines, habits, and rhythms that used to work. But somewhere along the way, they stop carrying the power they once did. And instead of letting God flip some tables and make space for more, we keep clinging to what’s comfortable.
Maybe your bandwidth is too narrow. Maybe your spiritual infrastructure hasn’t been touched in a while. Maybe what God wants to send into your life can’t fit in the system you’ve been running.
This isn’t about working harder. It’s about opening wider. God is ready to pour more grace, more clarity, more strength into your life. But you may need to clear out some things first. Let Him upgrade your heart so you can carry what’s coming. Because what worked yesterday might not be enough for where He’s trying to take you now.
