One Step at a Time
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." - James 1:22
Faith always walks. It never stays still. The people God used throughout Scripture all had to take a step. Noah had to pick up the hammer. Abraham had to leave home. Moses had to walk back into Egypt. Peter had to step out onto the water. None of them got the full plan. What they got was an instruction, a moment, and a choice. And their obedience opened the door for everything else.
You may be waiting for a sign, or a feeling, or a perfect scenario to show up. But more often than not, the move of God meets you in motion. You are not waiting on clarity. You are waiting on courage. Because clarity usually comes after the step, not before it. Obedience is not passive. It is not about agreeing with God in theory. It is about moving when He speaks.
The longer you sit still, the louder fear becomes. But something shifts when you step. Something activates. That one act of obedience may not look big on the outside, but it often becomes the spark that unlocks everything else. The walls of Jericho did not fall when the Israelites stood and prayed. They fell after they walked, day after day, step after step, in obedience to God’s word.
You do not need to see the finish line to take the first step. You just need to trust the One who called you. When God speaks, your job is not to overanalyze it or delay it. Your job is to walk it out. What is the step He is asking from you right now? It might not be dramatic. It might not be flashy. But it is yours to take.
The question is not whether God is speaking. The question is whether you are stepping.
