A New Way to Think
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind" - Romans 12:2
When God calls you forward, the first thing He often changes is not your location but your mindset. Before your feet move, your thoughts have to. The battles you face, the fears you carry, and the things that keep you stuck usually don’t come from the outside. They live in your thinking. If your mindset stays the same, even a new opportunity can look like an old obstacle.
That is why Paul told the church to be transformed by the renewal of their minds. God does not just want you to change your behavior. He wants to change how you see. That shift is not small. It is what opens the door to everything else. You cannot step into new life with an old way of thinking. The transformation starts up top, in your thoughts, beliefs, assumptions, and expectations.
When Peter got the vision in Acts 10, it was a mindset shift. God was showing him that the way he had been taught to see certain people was not how God saw them. And if Peter wanted to walk in obedience, he had to think differently. He had to let God rewire how he viewed others and how he viewed God’s mission. That mental adjustment was what prepared him for what came next.
Sometimes you are asking God for the next step, but He is trying to give you a new lens. He is trying to challenge your pride, confront your prejudice, or reshape the way you think about purpose, value, and calling. The mindset you had in the last season is not going to get you where He wants to take you next. If your thinking stays stuck, your faith will too.
You cannot follow Jesus fully with a half-changed mind. Let Him shape your thoughts. Let Him challenge your assumptions. Let Him stretch your perspective. The move of God starts in your mind. And when that shift happens, everything else can finally follow.
