The Blessing of Revelation
"Making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ" - Ephesians 1:9
When you think of blessings from God, revelation might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But Paul wants you to understand that one of the greatest gifts you’ve been given in Christ is the ability to see. To see what? To see the will of God for your life. To see with clarity what once looked like confusion. To see your identity, your direction, your purpose through the lens of grace.
Paul says that in Christ, God has made known to us the mystery of His will. That’s revelation. God doesn’t leave His people blind. He doesn’t keep you guessing about who He is or what He wants for you. He reveals it. And what a gift that is. Because on our own, we don’t see things clearly. Our emotions blur it. Our past distorts it. Our culture confuses it. But Jesus steps in and brings clarity where there used to be chaos.
Maybe you’ve had that moment where everything in your life used to look cloudy, but now, through Christ, it’s like you’re finally seeing it with fresh eyes. That’s what revelation does. It doesn’t always come all at once. Sometimes it comes one page at a time. One step at a time. But God, in His grace, gives you the ability to see what you couldn’t before.
Just like an eye doctor gives you a lens to correct your vision, Jesus becomes the lens through which you begin to view everything. Your relationships, your goals, your pain, your purpose. It changes everything. You begin to discern what your natural eye can’t pick up. That’s spiritual discernment. That’s revelation. And it’s a blessing.
If you’re in a season of uncertainty, don’t panic. Ask for revelation. Ask God to show you what your eyes cannot see. And trust that He will. Because in Christ, you’ve already been given that gift. You don’t have to stumble through the dark anymore. The light has come, and it’s shining right where you need it most.
