Clarity in the Calling
“And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14
There are moments in life when everything you have walked through begins to make sense. The pain, the waiting, the blessings, the open doors, even the detours. You look back and realize God was up to something all along.
That is exactly where Esther found herself. A young woman who rose from the margins to the palace. A woman who could have stayed silent and protected her comfort but chose instead to risk everything because she recognized her moment. Mordecai’s words to her were bold and clear. Maybe you are here, right now, for a reason. Maybe God placed you in this position, at this time, for this very purpose.
Have you ever stopped to ask why God has you where He does? Why He opened the door you walked through? Why you went through what you did? Sometimes clarity doesn’t come when you look ahead, but when you look back. Like Joseph in Genesis, who told his brothers that what they meant for evil, God meant for good. That clarity only came after the dust had settled. And the same is often true for us.
We do not always understand our calling in real time. But if you take the time to reflect on what God has brought you through, it starts to come into view. The grace you needed in one season was preparing you for the courage you would need in the next. The struggles you faced were shaping your strength. The favor you received was setting the stage for something far bigger than your own comfort.
You were not placed where you are by accident. You are not just filling space. You are part of a bigger plan. God is writing a story, and your part in it matters. Clarity starts when you believe God’s hand has been on you the whole time. And courage grows when you decide that obedience is worth the risk.
