Choose Courage Over Comfort
"Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will act." – Psalm 37:5
Most people miss their moment not because they are unqualified, but because they are unwilling. They know what God is stirring in their heart; they feel the pull to step out, to speak up, to do something different, but they delay. They wait for a sign, for conditions to improve, or for someone to give them permission. But often, the thing keeping us from stepping into purpose isn’t fear; it’s comfort.
When Esther was faced with the decision to speak up or stay silent, she had a lot to lose. Her status, her safety, even her life were at stake. But the calling of God was louder than the comfort of her position. Her story could have ended with ease and luxury, hidden away in the palace, unbothered by what was happening around her. But that’s not how God writes stories. God doesn’t call you to comfort, He calls you to courage. And when you answer that call, you don’t just change your life, you start changing lives around you.
Some of us are stuck in a season we were never meant to stay in, all because we keep waiting for the perfect time to move. But if you wait for perfect, you’ll wait forever. There’s never going to be a day when every detail is clear, when every question is answered, and every risk is removed. Purpose doesn’t show up dressed in certainty. It shows up as a quiet nudge in your spirit that says, “Do it anyway.”
God is not looking for people who have it all figured out. He’s looking for people who are willing to trust Him when they don’t. If you wait for everything to be perfect, if you keep pushing off the prompting in your heart, if you let comfort keep you quiet, you might miss what you were created for. Esther had to decide if she would stay safe or step into purpose. And so do you. Will you put comfort first or courage first? Will you play it safe or trust God with the risk?
God is faithful to act when you commit your way to Him. That means you do the trusting and He does the moving. The world may not need more talent or knowledge, but it could use a few more people willing to live with courage. Let that be you.
