Help Is On The Way
In Jeremiah 33, he and his people find themselves in a world that is near the brink of utter ruin and near collapse. The armies of King Nebuchadnezzar are advancing on Jerusalem, and the city streets are soon to be lined with dead people who once walked upon them. From all accounts, the situation is bleak; the city is doomed. Jeremiah himself is in prison for preaching against the king and his government, and the people of Jerusalem are suffering at the hands of their Babylonian oppressors. And yet, amidst all the devastation, the preacher utters a word of encouragement and promise to these beleaguered and anguished people. With their backs up against the wall and their enemies on the attack, the prophet proclaims that restoration is going to return to this devastated community, and the life they had will return once again. What does this mean for you? The same news it meant for Jeremiah, help is on the way! So with that in mind, let’s look at three specific facets of the help we receive from God.
