In his letter to the church at Ephesus, Paul wants to inform the church that they have power; power from on high, to do what they could not do on their own. It is a power you might say that is based upon what they have underneath the hood. It is not based upon external appearances, or in fancy titles or in religious regalia. It is a power given to us by God through the Holy Spirit, and as a result of that power we are able to live a victorious Christian life. If you’re a child of God, you have that same power available to you as well. Sure, it might be under the hood and not immediately visible to an onlooker. But that doesn’t diminish its value. The power of the Holy Spirit is a force to be reckoned with, and my hope is that in this message, you will learn to use that power as you understand how valuable it truly is.
