The Potter Wants To Put You Back Together

Aug 23, 2026    Dr. Delman Coates

Life has a way of knocking us out of alignment. Disappointment, betrayal, tragedy, loss — the potholes we hit along the way can leave us cracked, tired, and drifting from God. But in Jeremiah 18, God sends the prophet down to a potter's house with a message we all need to hear: what's broken doesn't have to stay broken.

In this message, Pastor Delman Coates walks through the potter's wheel to show us how God realigns and restores our lives:

🔹 Alignment happens in difficult seasons — God sent Jeremiah down, not up. Film develops in the dark. Seeds grow underground. Your dark season isn't proof God left; it's proof He's developing you.

🔹 Alignment happens despite our flaws — The clay was marred, but the potter didn't throw it away. He leaned in, got his hands dirty, and made it again. You may be damaged, but you are not discarded.

🔹 Be open to the process — The mallet, the wheel, and the fire are all part of the shaping. Don't abandon the process too soon. The Potter keeps turning the wheel until He sees His reflection in the clay.

Whatever you've walked through — the job loss, the divorce, the grief — you went through it in His hands. And God is not finished with you yet.
