Leaning On The Everlasting Arms

Aug 6, 2023    Dr. Delman Coates

There is a poetic proverb that states, “If religion were something that money could buy, the rich would live and the poor would die.” We all know that religion falls far short of what is required if we are to enjoy a healthy relationship with God, and rather than trying to appease God through performance, let us find comfort in the capacity to be at peace with God. Rest is a remedy for spiritual anxiety. It is a remedy for religious striving and feeling that we have to prove our fidelity to God and hold on so tight out of fear we might lose Him. In this message, we’re going to look at how we can lean on the everlasting arms of God and rest in His presence, rather than continuing to strive for perfect performance.
