God’s Promises Are Sure

“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ ascends to God for his glory.” – 2 Corinthians 1:20

The Bible says that God is not a man that He should lie. If He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. One reason so many people give up on God in the waiting process is because they do believe God has the power to do what He said He would do. However, a delay is not a denial.

Think about it like fast food vs. gourmet food in the quality, price and wait time. Fast food you can receive in a short amount of time, it comes with an inexpensive price tag, but it lacks nutritional value. Gourmet food takes a little longer to prepare but has greater nutritional value and requires that you invest more money.

God is the ultimate gourmet chef. He is in the background preparing a blessing that takes some time and comes with the price of your time, growth, and patience, but the value you receive it going to be worthwhile. You could choose the fast route, but you will not be satisfied long term and you will not receive all the nutrients that you ultimately need.

I don’t know about you, but I would rather God take his time. If it’s God’s will, it will be God’s bill. Jesus paid the ultimate price on Calvary’s Cross because he loved us and wanted the best for us.

And that love did not stop on the Cross. He continues to show us that His promises are sure. If we are willing to trust, there is a greater reward that awaits. Cast your cares and remember that God is cooking something great in the kitchen of your life.
