Paul’s goal in the second half of the letter to the church at Ephesus, chapters 4-6, is to teach the Ephesians how to live a victorious Christian life. He wants to help them learn how to have successful families, successful marriages, and victory over the enemy. But to do that, he wants to help them understand why they have the power. In today’s key passage, we discover that the power we have, the power that Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20 says is working within us, is the result of a set of benefits and blessings that come from God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. And it’s important to understand this because you might think the power is based upon something you have done. But the Bible teaches that it’s not because of us. It’s all because of Him. Today, I want to look at verses 1-6 of this first chapter, to consider the blessings we have that come from God the Father.
